The Lead Database Administrator will support the Database function globally they will be an SME accountable for owning the technical roadmap and strategy for embedding new tools and projects within Johnson Mattheys Database (CoLo On-Premise and Cloud) estate. Within this area they are responsible for ensuring that Database solutions are fit for purpose and maximizing the value derived from investments in technology.
The primary goal of the role is twofold: firstly to own and drive the technical roadmap for Johnson Mattheys Database environments including the technology therein through the teams delivery of projects. Secondary is the 3rd line incident and service request trouble shooting/fulfilment projects service improvements and setting standards through documenting policy and process.
The role will report directly to the Senior Manager Cloud & Data Centres support the Infrastructure Engineering Manager and broader JM IT infrastructure & Operations teams with the daily Service requests process improvements problem resolution and incidence resolution.

Your responsibilities:
- Own and drive technical roadmap for Johnson Mattheys Database environments including the technology therein such as SQL Server and Oracle database Compute backup restore and disaster recovery capability.
- Lead a team of Database Administrators ensuring process is followed and work is completed inline with published standards.
- Responsible for embedding new tools and technologies throughout the database discipline.
- Oversight of projects impacting the database area.
- Focus on optimizing Johnson Mattheys database estate particular attention on increasing enterprise monitoring to ensure they are optimum/highly available for infrastructure and applications services.
Requirements for the role:
Strong understanding of database technologies.
Experienced working within an I&O environment.
Experience with operating systems and server administration.
Relevant industry qualifications
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Must have a proven track record of supporting a large complex estate
