Role:
As a HiL Test Engineer for High-Voltage Battery Power Electronics you will plan execute and evaluate tests for safetyrelevant electronic components within the framework of functional safety according to ISO 26262.
Responsibilities include:
- Implementation of requirements in test cases and suitable test setups with a focus on ISO 26262 compliance.
- Executing tests on Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) systems including fault injection and verification of safety mechanisms.
- Working with remote HiL environments ensuring test reproducibility and comparability.
- Using ETAS INCA and ECUTEST for test execution measurement calibration and evaluation.
- Applying test automation concepts (e.g. scripted test sequences automated execution and evaluation).
- Performing test data analysis result interpretation and error investigation.
- Creating and maintaining test documentation test reports and bug tickets in line with project and OEM requirements.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of test processes methods and automation approaches.
- Close collaboration with development systems and functional safety teams in an international BMW project environment.
Job Profile
- University degree (Bachelor or Master) in Electrical Engineering Automotive Engineering Mechatronics Computer Science or a comparable field.
- Initial experience in hardware and/or software testing ideally in an automotive environment.
- Practical experience with INCA and ECUTEST as test and measurement tools.
- Basic knowledge of test automation and test data analysis e.g. structured test execution automated result evaluation or scripting.
- Understanding of high-voltage systems and power electronics advantageous.
- Familiarity with functional safety according to ISO 26262 is highly desirable.
- Analytical structured and team-oriented working style with strong communication skills.
- Fluent English (spoken and written) German is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently in a remote HiL testing setup.
