The position is hybrid working a minimum of 3 days in the office typically Tuesday through Thursday with the ability to work from home the remaining workdays.Candidates must be able to travel to plant sites when needed (approx. 6-8 days/month with ability to support longer durations).

Our Nuclear Services Division specializes in providing high-quality engineering procurement design and project management for operating and new reactor clients and partners with our other divisions to integrate nuclear design with electrical high-voltage substations switchyard transmission line distribution and artificial intelligence integration design. Education/Experience/Licensure:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university (required) structural engineering emphasis (highly preferred)
• EIT (highly preferred) or ability to obtain EIT within one year of employment (required)
• Previous design experience related to modifications in nuclear (DOE or commercial) plants (preferred)
• Experience working with multiple operating nuclear clients and vendors (preferred)
• Ability to obtain unescorted access at an operating or construction nuclear plant (required)
• Basic knowledge of civil design codes (AISC ASTM ACI)
• Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite). Additional software skills including Bluebeam AutoCAD Vault Risa ANSYS (preferred)

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the development of deliverables for nuclear projects within the Civil discipline
• Report to an assigned Project Engineer and act as a Design Engineer for Civil projects
• Be responsible for working with other engineers and designers to prepare design change packages for modifications at operating nuclear plants and other associated nuclear facilities
• Be proficient in preparation of engineering change packages (ECs)
• Conduct field walkdowns to determine existing configuration of plant structures systems and components
• Follow a strict adherence to civil codes and standards

Successful candidates will:

• Possess the ability to interpret codes and regulations and standard practices
• Be able to demonstrate adaptability; must be proficient in identifying troubleshooting and resolving issues within a nuclear power plant environment
• Have effective oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing)
• Possess excellent communication skills and ability to interface with customers and internal team members under a matrixed organization
