ATHL Football Headset Technician

Job Description:

Headset Technicians support the ISU Football program by providing reliable gamecritical technical assistance for communication systems during all home and away games and select practices. This role ensures that sideline and coaches booth communication equipment is fully operational properly maintained and quickly serviced when issues arise.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Set up and break down all sideline and coaches booth communication systems for games and designated practices.
• Prepare test and configure all wiring belt packs headsets and related components to ensure full system readiness.
• Pack transport and organize equipment between the equipment room semitrailer and game sites.
• Troubleshoot communication systems efficiently and effectively during live practices and games.
• Attend all football games and participate in headset vendor training sessions.
• Communicate clearly professionally and promptly with coaches staff and fellow technicians.
• Learn and adhere to all ISU NCAA conference and Athletics Department policies and procedures.

Physical aspects of this position:

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and push equipment trunks weighing several hundred pounds with drivetrain assistance.
• Ability to stand walk and move along sidelines for 1012 hours on game days.
• Manual dexterity to handle repair and configure technical equipment.
• Ability to work in outdoor environments including extreme heat cold rain or snow.
• Ability to travel to home and away football games and attend select practices during fall camp and spring game periods.
• Ability to travel during the offseason to communicationsystem training and development provided by the equipment vendor.

Position information:

Part-time position with varying hours throughout the year. Limited to a maximum of 780 work hours per fiscal year. This position is not eligible for ISU insurance benefits.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Directly related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with similar headset systems and/or phone-based technical support services.
