Cloud Consultant (Microsoft Azure)

The Cloud Consultant is responsible for building deploying and managing cloud infrastructure and services on the Microsoft Azure platform. You will work hands-on to implement secure scalable and automated cloud solutions that meet performance and availability goals. You will support cloud operations improve infrastructure through automation and troubleshoot issues. This role demands strong technical execution infrastructure knowledge and cloud platform skills serving as a core executor for hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Implementation: Assist in the design and implementation of secure scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure solutions building standard Azure Landing Zones.
• Automation & IaC: Support the development of automation scripts and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform Bicep or ARM templates.
• Migration Support: Participate in infrastructure assessments using automated discovery tools (e.g. Azure Migrate) and assist in planning and executing cloud migrations.
• Operations Management: Manage routine cloud operations including automated patching via Azure Update Manager backup and restore operations using Azure Backup and resolving basic to intermediate troubleshooting issues.
• ITSM Integration: Handle incidents problems and changes through integrated ITSM workflows.
• Governance & Identity: Help implement cloud governance manage Identity Lifecycle tasks (Microsoft Entra ID RBAC/ABAC policies) and enforce compliance standards using Azure Policy.
• Cost Optimization: Contribute to cloud resource optimization by applying FinOps best practices and performance tuning via Azure Advisor.
• Business Continuity: Execute basic Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies drills and validation checkpoints using Azure Site Recovery (ASR).
• Pre-Sales Support: Support customer workshops solution demos and technical documentation during pre-sales engagements.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of cloud environments infrastructure changes and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications :

• Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
• Experience: 25 years of experience in cloud infrastructure deployment and support.
• Platform Knowledge: Experience with at least one major public cloud platform with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Infrastructure as Code: Exposure to Terraform or native Azure automation tools.
• Core Concepts: Understanding of core cloud concepts such as virtualization containers networking IAM and security.
• Tooling: Familiarity with tools used for cloud assessment migration and monitoring.
• Security: Hands-on experience with basic cloud security controls and compliance practices (Azure Security Center/Defender for Cloud).
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or within a team.
• Certification: Relevant Associate-level certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate / AZ-104).

Preferred Qualifications

• Azure Service Depth: Hands-on experience with specific Azure services such as Azure Virtual Machines VNet Entra ID (Azure AD) Azure Storage Azure SQL and AKS.
• Hybrid Cloud: Experience with VMware or hybrid cloud environments and integration with on-premises infrastructure (e.g. using VPN Gateways or ExpressRoute).
• Migration Projects: Experience participating in cloud migration projects.
• Modernization: Interest in cloud-native architectures and application modernization.
• DevOps Tooling: Exposure to CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps GitHub Actions GitLab or Jenkins for infrastructure automation.
• Monitoring: Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Scripting: Basic scripting skills in PowerShell Bash or Python.
• Client Interaction: Strong communication skills and ability to interact with clients both technical and non-technical.
• Agile Methodology: Experience working in agile project environments and using tools like Jira Confluence or Azure Boards.
