Principal Product Manager-Tech, Devices and Software Services (DS2)

Amazons Device Software & Services organization (DS2) is the platform layer beneath every Kindle Echo Fire TV and Fire Tablet sold worldwide. We own the foundational services powering device identity registration telemetry and lifecycle management for hundreds of millions of devices. The landscape is shifting fast: AI is redefining how customers interact with devices and user identity. Security architectures are evolving to meet new threats and multi-account models. DS2 needs to define the next generation of platform services that meet the changing needs of our business and customers across Amazons entire device portfolio. We need a product leader who can drive that shift.
What Youll Own
As a Principal PMT on the DS2 team youll be the strategic product leader connecting DS2s platform capabilities to measurable business outcomes across Amazons largest device product lines. This is a high-visibility role where youll:
Define the identity product strategy DS2 drives with VP-level leaders across Echo Fire TV Kindle Tablet and eReader translating platform investments into language product lines care about: customer reach CX quality and revenue impact.
Build the insights pipeline that connects product-line customer needs to DS2 prioritization. Youll own the success metrics analytical frameworks and mechanisms that ensure DS2 builds what matters most.
Own the product vision for transforming the device customer support experience a space where DS2 platform gaps directly drive millions of customer contacts annually. Youll partner across security CS product lines and engineering to close critical CX gaps through self-service automation and smarter platform primitives.
Lead cross-portfolio identity initiatives spanning 20 partner teams across Amazon and require influence without direct authority.
Youll work alongside a team of PMTs with regular engagement with Principal Engineers VP-level stakeholders and cross-functional leaders across multiple teams at Amazon.
What Makes This Role Different
This isnt a single-product PM role. This role exists in the whitespace between product lines and platform teams owning what no single team owns. Youll operate at the intersection of platform architecture and customer experience decomposing ambiguous multi-year problems into crisp deliverables.
What You Bring
8 years in technical product management with experience owning platform or infrastructure products (not just features on top of them).
Track record of influencing cross-org outcomes without direct authority. Youve driven alignment across teams that dont report to you.
Deep comfort with ambiguity. Youve taken a vague strategic mandate and turned it into a roadmap with measurable outcomes.
Analytical rigor. You build frameworks not dashboards. You define the metrics that matter not just report the ones that exist.
Technical fluency with APIs distributed systems and device/cloud architectures. You can hold your own in an architecture review and push back on technical tradeoffs with data.
Experience with enterprise and/or consumer device systems is a strong plus.


- 8 years of product or program management product marketing business development or technology experience
- Bachelors degree
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience technical product management

- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience in project management methodologies business analysis or process improvement

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
