Intern Investment Team (6 months)
Objective of the BlueOrchards internship program is to create a pool of professionals who are passionate about impact investment and might be interested in exploring further opportunities with BlueOrchard as they may arise. As part of the Investment Team you will have exposure to a wide variety of investment related tasks and projects and you will gain experience in a multi-cultural business environment.
Key tasks
- Support in monitoring and analysing Micro Finance Institutions (MFI) and Finance Institutions (FI) from a financial and social impact perspective and independently perform investment-related tasks;
- Conduct desk research regarding country risk regulatory and competitive environment of Latin American investees as well as potential new markets;
- Support the Latin American private debt investment team in portfolio analysis and investors reporting;
- Assist Investment Officers in communication with the financial institutions (FIs) BlueOrchard Finances Offices worldwide and third parties;
- Organize and maintain client electronic and physical files and update all relevant documentation.
Required skills and experience
- Previous internship experience is required.
- Basic knowledge of the financial system and financial analysis for Financial Institutions (including main ratios) is required.
- Strong academic record in financial analyses business administration related fields or a similar professional experience; Masters degree desirable;
- Structured and analytical thinking with ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with advanced skills in Excel and Power Point; VBA skill is a plus;
- Proficiency in Spanish and English. English speaking skills will be assessed.
