The Role:

The Senior Cashier is responsible for delivering accurate timely and secure cash management services across the organisation. Reporting to the Head of Shared Finance Services the role ensures effective processing reconciliation and control of all income and banking activities supporting strong financial governance and excellent customer service. The Senior Cashier acts as the operational lead for cash handling processes and provides guidance to colleagues involved in income collection.

This is a part time role working 3 days per week - 22.5 hours

The position is hybrid working onsite in Oxford 1 or 2 days per week

We are able to offer some flexibility on these timings for the successful candidate if required.

The Location:

Oxford Fertility was established in 1992 and is one of the UKs longest standing and largest IVF clinics. Due to the passion expertise and reputation of our team the clinic has grown into a leading fertility clinic and offers a full suite of treatment and diagnostic services including PGT and IVM. Providing treatment to both NHS and private patients. Conveniently located in a business park setting on the outskirts of Oxford close to junction 8a of the M40 there is ample free parking for staff and patients around the building.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily processing of all income streams including cash online payments and bank transfers ensuring accurate recording and allocation.

  • Process patient refunds promptly and in line with Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Manage secure cash handling including cashing-up banking preparation and safe custody.

  • Perform regular bank and control account reconciliations resolving discrepancies efficiently.

  • Maintain strong financial controls audit trails and compliance with policies and regulatory standards.

  • Support cashflow monitoring short-term forecasting and daily treasury activities.

  • Monitor bank balances process transfers reconcile intercompany payments and handle banking queries.

  • Maintain data accuracy in finance systems and support system improvements or new implementations.

  • Deliver professional support to internal and external stakeholders resolving income-related queries effectively.

  • Collaborate across finance teams provide cross-cover where needed and contribute to continuous improvement.

The above will be reviewed as required in consultation with the post holder. It is offered as a guide to the key responsibilities and duties but does not preclude other projects that may arise as the organisation evolves.

The post holder must maintain confidentiality of information about patients staff and other Company business in accordance with the National and European data protection circumstances where it becomes known that a member of staff has communicated such information to an unauthorised person that staff member will be liable for dismissal.

Job requirements

Experience and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Good general education (e.g. GCSEs or equivalent).

  • Significant experience in cashiering cash-handling or front-of-house financial roles.

  • Strong numeracy skills with confidence working accurately with figures.

  • Daily experience managing cash processes including reconciliation float control and banking preparation.

  • Proven ability to identify investigate and resolve payment discrepancies escalating where necessary.

  • Experience working within financial controls audit requirements or treasury procedures.

  • High level of integrity trustworthiness and commitment to safeguarding financial assets.

  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise under pressure.

  • Proactive and logical problem-solver with clear professional communication skills and respect for confidentiality.

Desirable:

  • Experience in healthcare or other regulated environments

  • Familiarity with Navision

Salary: Competitive (Depending on experience)

Location: TFP Oxford Fertility

Working Hours: 22.5

Hours of work: 09.00 17.00

Hybrid working: 1/2 days per week on-site in Oxford
Pension: Dual contribution pension scheme

Holiday Entitlement: 27 Days Bank holidays(pro rata)
