Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation for a Customer Development Manager to drive and architect high-impact growth strategies across a dynamic portfolio. This role operates at the centre of commercial excellence combining data-driven insight strategic thinking and stakeholder influence to maximise revenue expand market share and elevate client partnerships.

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will lead the development of strategic customer development plans identifying and executing opportunities that enhance client ROI and strengthen long-term relationships.
  • They will act as a senior advisor to business units guiding the adoption of innovative growth strategies and commercial models.
  • This role requires building and maintaining strong relationships with clients retailers and internal stakeholders across functions such as operations finance and technology.
  • The incumbent will analyse market trends client performance and competitor activity to refine commercial terms support contract negotiations and unlock additional value.
  • They will also drive strategic client insights by leveraging feedback surveys and performance data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Working closely with Client Executives they will shape customer experience strategies support business development initiatives and deliver compelling presentations that influence decision-making at an executive level.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate degree/NQF Level 8 in Business Management or Sales.
  • 1012 years experience in FMCG retail or sales at a senior management level.
  • Proven track record of managing teams clients and relationships with national retailers suppliers and wholesalers.
  • Strong commercial and growth acumen with the ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Advanced analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to lead through others and drive execution.
  • Resilient results-driven and ownership-focused mindset.
