As Head of Provision at Sendsory you will lead the day-to-day running of the provision managing staff timetables and resources while ensuring the Therapeutic Curriculum is delivered effectively using adaptive trauma-informed approaches.

You will monitor pupil progress including EHCP outcomes and half-termly snapshots liaise with families and professionals and act as Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure high-quality support for pupils with SEND including those awaiting school placement at risk of or who have experienced permanent exclusion or disengaging from mainstream education.

In this role you will:

  • lead and manage a team of teaching and support staff
  • lead weekly staff supervisions focused on wellbeing guidance and ongoing support.
  • ensure the curriculum is effectively implemented and adaptive teaching approaches are embedded
  • complete SEND learning walks and Intent Implementation and Impact snapshots using the NurturED Hub system supporting the ongoing development of provision and practice and ensuring it is consistent high-quality and responsive to pupil need
  • monitor and assess pupil progress ensuring half-termly snapshots including EHCP outcomes are completed on the NurturED Hub platform
  • maintain strong behaviour management strategies to support learning
  • liaise with parents carers schools and external agencies to support positive outcomes
  • ensure compliance with safeguarding health and safety and data protection policies
  • manage daily operations including timetabling and resources
  • complete on-site and off-site risk assessments for the building and community visits
  • complete PEEPs for all children on roll reviewing and updating them half-termly and as required
  • lead staff inductions ensuring safeguarding behaviour and wellbeing expectations are understood
  • facilitate safeguarding and behaviour briefings and contribute to team debriefs and planning
  • act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) managing concerns referrals and multi-agency communication
  • act as first point of contact for visitors professionals and external agencies
  • submit AQA evidence on a half-termly basis
  • actively de-escalate behaviour using trauma-informed and restorative approaches
  • build consistent positive relationships with pupils modelling clear expectations and boundaries
  • record and report behaviour incidents and safeguarding concerns
  • support emotional regulation resilience and positive relationships using an attachment-aware approach
  • ensure children experience emotional safety predictability and relational support to build trust and wellbeing.

You will need:

  • experience working with children with complex SEND including trauma and SEMH needs
  • experience leading or managing a team of teaching and support staff
  • strong understanding of trauma-informed attachment-aware and restorative approaches
  • experience implementing and overseeing a therapeutic or adapted curriculum
  • experience monitoring pupil progress including EHCP outcomes and assessment tracking
  • confident behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • experience liaising with parents schools and external agencies
  • knowledge of safeguarding procedures; willingness to act as DSL (training can be provided)
  • strong organisational skills including timetabling operations and resource management
  • experience supporting staff development inductions and team briefings
  • QTS preferred but applications from unqualified teachers with relevant experience are welcome
  • familiarity with communication approaches such as Makaton PECS or Talk Pads is desirable.

Sendsory is a specialist Alternative Provision supporting children aged 411 with SEND. Our Therapeutic Curriculum helps children regulate their emotions develop communication and social skills and build confidence in a nurturing environment.

We support children who are awaiting school placement at risk of or who have experienced permanent exclusion and those who are disengaging from mainstream education.
