Overview

Water Management Consultancy (WMC) is a key part of theInfrastructuredivision withinAtkinsRéalis Water and Environment Business. Serving both UK and international clients our projects spana wider range of specialisms including environmental chemistry water quality catchment management hydrology/water resource planningflood modellingand geomorphology.

As a Water Resource Modelling Specialistyoullplay a pivotal role in shaping our water management solutions. Collaborating with a friendly and accomplished teamyoullcontribute to projects that safeguard ourenvironment andensure a reliable and sustainable supply of clean water to our clients customers even as climatepopulationsand demand change in the future. Your role

• International experience.
• Experience in applying approaches and using industry-wide models includingAquator MiserPywror other hydrological and water resource models.
• Proficiencyin coding/programming (R VBA Python) is a plus.

About you

• A strong academic background with a degree in Civil Engineering and/or aMasters degree in Waterresources/Hydraulics/Geoinformatics/EnvironmentalEngineering.
• Academic project experience of using GIS; MapInfo ArcGIS and open-source GIS tools.
• Appreciationof waterresources modelling including supporting production of Statutory Plans such as drought plans and Water Resource Management Plans (WRMP)
• Appreciation ofoperational planning or supporting companies with drought permit / order applications
• Understanding of what goes into a WRMP such as calculating various components of the supply-demand balance demand forecasting options appraisaluncertaintyand risk (e.g. headroom and outage) and investment modelling
• Ability to produce clear and concise technical reports in English.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and clients via video conferencing.
• Adherence to quality procedures andmaintaininghigh standardsin your work.
• Enthusiasm for learning new skills and work procedures.

• A masters degree in project management or equivalent is a plus.
• Chartered status / Professional certifications (e.g. MAPM Prince 2 practitioner PMP MRICS) is an added advantage.
