GENERAL MANAGER
POSITION TYPE: FULL-TIME
LOCATION: LANGLEY BRITISH COLUMBIA OR EDMONTON ALBERTA (ONSITE)
ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Founded in 1985 Our client Pacific Radiator Manufacturing Limited (the Company) specializes in the manufacturing of replacement copper-brass radiator cores and tanks for use in industrial equipment and vehicles. With over 55 employees the Companys primary manufacturing facility is in Langley BC and it operates a second manufacturing facility in Edmonton 2024 our client was acquired by Petwin Bancorp Inc (Petwin) a family office with private equity and real estate investments across North America.
THE ROLE:
Reporting to and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer of Petwin while also collaborating with subsidiary leadership teams the General Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day leadership operational effectiveness and financial performance of the Company while adhering to a high standard of ethics business practices and regulatory compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy Development & Execution
- In collaboration with the Board design and execute the Companys strategic plan translating business objectives into actionable operational initiatives.
- Monitor performance against key objectives and adjust plans to meet evolving business needs.
Financial Excellence
- Deliver on financial targets including revenue growth profitability and cost management.
- Monitor budget-to-actual performance identifying variances and implementing action plans.
- In collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer of Petwin lead the annual budgeting process.
Operations & Sales Management
In collaboration with Petwins VP of Portfolio Initiatives lead and execute new business development initiatives to drive sustainable growth and market expansion.
- Foster long-term relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and ensure smooth production processes and timely delivery of products.
- Lead customer service operations and develop and maintain key customer relationships as well as resolve issues that are escalated from the team.
- Establish and oversee pricing strategies aligned with market conditions and business goals.
- Ensure the sales team is effectively managing current client relationships and meeting targets for new business for year-over-year revenue growth.
- Drive culture to maximize productivity and profitability.
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure product standards are consistently met.
- Meet with the operations sales and accounting team to review performance and goals.
Organizational Excellence
- Ensure the Companys organizational culture is maintained and enhanced where required.
- Create the workforce strategy on an annual basis including managing the relationship with unionized employees and the union.
- In collaboration with Petwin and external consultants manage the total rewards strategy to maintain engagement and retention.
- In collaboration with Petwin and external consultants create the organizations succession plan and reviewing the plan on an annual basis to minimize any risks.
- Ensure a robust health and safety program is created and implemented through the organization.
- Lead the strategy for hiring and training production staff to ensure a smooth transition and develop and execute production schedules based on sales orders and distributor orders.
- Continue to foster a positive and ethical work environment to attract retain and motivate a diverse group of top-quality employees at all levels and ensure a high-performing senior management team is in place.
QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:
- Bachelors degree (University or College) in Engineering Business Administration or a related field would be considered an asset. Equivalent experience may also be considered.
- 7 years of experience in a senior management role including experience with manufacturing operations. Experience with unionized workforces would be an asset.
- Demonstrated expertise in production processes with the ability to streamline and optimize operations for maximum efficiency and profitability.
- Proven leadership skills to develop and manage high-performing teams.
- Comfortable with reviewing and interpreting financial information.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Experience reporting to the Board of Directors would be an asset.
- Ability to operate independently with a strong sense of initiative and a results-driven mindset.
- A proven track record for year over year growth for an organization.
COMPENSATION:
The Company has a competitive total compensation package.
TRAVEL
This role is physically based onsite either in Langley or Edmonton and the successful candidate will be expected to be based within reasonable driving distance from one of these locations on a full-time basis. The successful candidate should be available to travel to both the Langley and Edmonton locations as well as to other Petwin operations.
