Coating Process Engineer

Learn more about us as a workplace are now looking for a Coating Process Engineer. This position will be located in Johor Bahru Malaysia

What you will do

• Support daily coating operations by monitoring and adjusting process parameters to ensure stable production and consistent product quality (adhesion smoothness coating weight etc.)
• Analyze process issues (defects variability waste) and contribute to root cause identification and resolution
• Participate in industrial trials (new materials process settings product validation) and support implementation on production lines
• Work closely with automation teams to improve process control and machine performance
• Collaborate with maintenance to enhance equipment reliability and optimize machine settings
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Six Sigma) to improve efficiency and reduce waste
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation (process standards work instructions reports)
• Support knowledge transfer and training of operators and technicians
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards at all times

Who you are

• You have a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or a related engineering discipline
• You have 2 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in coating converting extrusion or similar processes is an advantage but not mandatory
• You have a basic understanding of automation and process control including PLC HMI and industrial systems
• You have strong analytical thinking with a structured approach to problem solving
• You have a hands-on mindset and are willing to work close to the shopfloor and equipment
• You have good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with production maintenance and automation teams
• You are eager to learn and develop technical expertise in coating processes
• You are able to work independently while also being a reliable team player
• You have proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia both spoken and written
