Welfare & Attendance Officer | North West London | Secondary School

A prominent secondary school in Barnet is seeking a proactive and energetic Welfare & Attendance Officer for a full-time role starting ASAP. This position is ideal for a practitioner who enjoys building strong relationships with families to ensure every student is safe and engaged.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily attendance and punctuality conducting home visits where necessary.

• Work with the safeguarding team to identify and support students at risk.

• Maintain accurate records of student welfare concerns and interventions.

• Lead meetings with parents and external agencies to resolve barriers to school attendance.

• Create and implement school-wide initiatives to celebrate high attendance.

Requirements

• Experience in a welfare social work or attendance role (school experience preferred).

• A compassionate yet firm approach to communication.

• Proficiency in tracking data and producing welfare reports.

• Must have the right to work in the UK.
