Job Summary
A welcoming and artistically vibrant secondary school in Bath is seeking an imaginative and dedicated Head of Art & Photography to join its team from September. This is a full-time permanent role in a school that prides itself on its rich heritage and its commitment to the creative arts.
The Role
Curriculum Vision: Shaping a broad and inclusive Art and Photography curriculum that celebrates diverse media and cultural perspectives.
A-Level Excellence: Leading on the delivery of Fine Art and Photography at Key Stage 5 supporting students with high-quality portfolio development.
Exhibition Leadership: Coordinating annual exhibitions and community art projects to showcase student talent.
Mentoring: Leading a team of artists and technicians fostering a collaborative and experimental environment for staff.
Gallery Links: Developing and maintaining partnerships with local galleries and creative practitioners in the Bath area.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong personal artistic background/portfolio.
Experience in leading or coordinating a subject area within an Art department.
Expertise in both traditional Fine Art and digital Photography/editing.
The ability to build positive relationships with students and inspire creative confidence.
Strong organisational skills to manage departmental budgets and resources.
