Job Summary

Requirements:

You should have:

  • Masters degree preferably in Statistics Computer Science Sociology or a related discipline
  • Certifications in Database Management will be an added advantage
  • at least four years of relevant work experience preferably with a research institute or data management organization
  • hands-on experience with data collection platforms such as REDCap ODK or CSPro
  • strong analytical qualitative and report-writing skills
  • ability to use statistical software such as STATA SPSS or R
  • good knowledge of SQL query language
  • excellent interpersonal communication and team-working skills
  • willingness to travel frequently to field sites outside Karachi.

Introduction:

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health operates multiple community-based field sites across Pakistan and focuses on high-impact research for the betterment of women and child health. The Department has strong expertise in large-scale data collection management and analysis supporting nationally and internationally funded research projects.

Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include to:

  • plan and coordinate the development of data collection and digitization applications for assigned research projects
  • plan document and verify data collection and data management requirements for research studies
  • coordinate with programmers and technical teams for development and customization of data collection tools
  • conduct user acceptance testing for data collection applications and ensure alignment with project requirements
  • liaise regularly with research teams and managers to ensure smooth execution of data collection activities
  • troubleshoot operational and technical issues affecting data collection or data quality
  • review datasets regularly run descriptive statistics and identify potential issues in data quality
  • ensure integrity quality control and quality assurance of research data in compliance with study SOPs and international GCP guidelines
  • supervise and support data management staff in overall data management processes
  • assist in reviewing database structures and data management conventions as required
  • train and support field data collection teams and contribute to capacity building of data management staff.
