Job Summary
Context
As part of the reinforcement of production activities within a leading industrial player in the life sciences sector we are looking for a Production Engineer to support and optimize manufacturing operations in a highly regulated environment.
You will play a key role in ensuring production continuity process robustness and compliance with GMP standards while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across sterile production processes (aseptic and terminal sterilization).
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Production Quality Assurance Maintenance Supply Chain and Finance.
Tasks
Your Role
As a Production Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring that manufacturing processes consistently deliver compliant efficient and safe outputs.
You will act as a key interface between operational teams and support functions contributing both to daily production activities and to strategic improvement projects with a strong focus on operational excellence and risk mitigation.
Main Responsibilities
Production & Operations Support
Support the Production Manager in daily operations to ensure business continuity and GMP compliance
Monitor and mitigate technical and operational risks
Coordinate production planning execution and shopfloor activities
Supervise production setup and resource allocation when required
Continuous Improvement & Performance
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety quality and productivity
Identify and implement best practices and optimized working methods
Improve production yield and reduce operational costs (Opex)
Act as the focal point for shopfloor improvement processes
Quality & Compliance
Manage production-related quality events (deviations CAPA change controls claims)
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
Ensure compliance with GMP standards and regulatory requirements
Prepare and review production documentation (batch records SOPs)
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with QA on validation qualification and metrology activities
Collaborate with Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and availability
Interface with Supply Chain for stock management and production optimization
Support Finance on cost structure and manufacturing performance topics
Projects & Industrialization
Contribute to CAPEX projects related to production processes and equipment
Translate operational excellence strategies into actionable initiatives
Training & Team Support
Develop and implement training plans for production teams
Ensure skill development and polyvalence within the production crew
Requirements
Your Profile
Masters degree or Engineering degree in Process Engineering Chemical Engineering or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in sterile production environments (aseptic and/or terminal sterilization)
Strong knowledge of GMP regulations (knowledge of Annex 1 and contamination control is a plus)
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Structured organized and detail-oriented mindset
Ability to work in cross-functional and regulated environments
Languages
Fluent in French and English (written and spoken)
