Independent Working Chef in Hoorn, The Netherlands

We are Oika an Asian All You Can Eat restaurant looking for a passionate Independent Working Chef Level I to join our kitchen team. Are you a skilled chef who thrives in the kitchen As our chef you will be responsible for the preparation and presentation of dishes and meal components. You will work under the guidance of our head chef or owner but can also independently manage the kitchen when needed. Additionally you will collaborate with fellow chefs and if required supervise kitchen assistants. You will follow established guidelines regarding ingredients recipes working methods and visual presentation.

Tasks

Your Responsibilities:

• Selecting and preparing (washing cutting mixing etc.)
• Conducting intermediate checks (doneness taste color etc.) and making adjustments as needed.
• Ensuring consistent quality and hygiene.
• Supervising the work of kitchen assistants and making corrections where necessary.
• Keeping track of stock levels ordering ingredients and checking deliveries.
• Daily cleaning of the work environment kitchen equipment and workstations.
• Reporting technical faults and resolving minor issues.
• Providing input regarding the composition and adjustments of menus the menu list and working methods

Requirements

Job Requirements:

• You take independent initiative and act solution-oriented.
• You work with conviction and dare to take responsibility.
• MBO-3 work and thinking level (If you dont meet the requirements apply anyway!)
• Demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques.
