Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor, Chemistry

Job Summary
The school seeks candidates to teach lectures and laboratory classes for undergraduates in the two-semester general chemistry sequence. Candidates will also be expected to contribute to the teaching of biochemistry and/or organic chemistry as well as additional courses in their area(s) of expertise based on the needs of the school and college. The typical teaching load is the equivalent of 12 credits per semester. The successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity for excellence in teaching and also engage in curriculum development and participate in academic advising recruiting course and program assessment and service to the school college and university.
Qualifications
A masters degree in chemistry or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment; preference will be given to candidate with a Ph.D. and/or those with a combination of education and professional experience that provide commensurate qualifications. Applicants with training in organic chemistry biochemistry green chemistry analytical chemistry toxicology and/or biotechnology are encouraged to apply as are those who can contribute to course development in areas of applied chemistry that complement current university growth areas.
