Data Engineer

Burnham IL (100% onsite)

Contract/Direct Hire

We re looking for a Data Engineer who can step into an established environment and quickly take ownership of critical data workflows. This role supports and enhances existing ETL processes APIs and SQL workloads in an on prem environment. Strong C# and SQL expertise are essential along with the ability to work through legacy systems with limited documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Support maintain and extend ETL processes by understanding existing logic and data flows
Develop and enhance C# scripts that support ETL operations
Design and maintain C# APIs used for data integration and downstream systems
Optimize SQL Server performance including:
Stored procedures
omplex queries
Indexing and performance tuning
Work directly with on prem SQL Server environments
Maintain and improve SQL stored procedures
Help stabilize and document legacy components where knowledge is limited

Required Skills & Experience

Strong professional experience with C# Scripting to support ETL
API development
Deep understanding of ETL concepts and data pipelines
Advanced SQL Server experience:
Writing and optimizing stored procedures
Query performance tuning
On prem SQL environments
Ability to work independently and ramp up quickly in undocumented or legacy systems

Nice to Have

PHP experience (strong plus)
