The P&C team are responsible for enabling enterprise performance by enabling the right culture and leadership across ASX. The team focuses on ensuring that our people are in the right roles with the right capabilities to deliver on our strategy; supporting cultural transformation and driving organisational effectiveness across a small but complex highly regulated and unique organisation.

Your Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnering

  • Operates as part of the C&S Divisional Leadership team to provide advice and guidance to Group Executives (GE) and Senior Leaders

  • Drives people strategy and cultural transformation integrating and aligning with business priorities

  • Acts as a strategic advisor to MD and Senior Leaders on organisational design engagement and change readiness

  • Partners with MD and Senior Leaders providing advice and coaching to accelerate performance & culture change

  • Partner with P&C Advice and Operations and CoEs to ensure seamless people solutions delivery and P&C strategy and plan including:

  • Strategic Workforce Planning and Sufficiency of Resources (SOR) for C&S Licences

  • Attraction of key talent and capabilities

  • Cultural and transformational change

  • Leadership Development and Capability uplift

  • Embedding Values Behaviours Leadership Principles

  • Performance & Reward framework

  • Drive attainment of key people metrics: Engagement Diversity & Inclusion Turnover Talent Retention Workplace Health and Safety

Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP)

  • Leads C&S workforce strategy aligned with future capability needs and business goals

  • Drives sufficiency of resources framework including data-informed resourcing models and scenario planning input into SWP

  • Partners with Accountable GE and Senior Leadership Team to embed workforce sufficiency framework and metrics for C&S Licenses

  • Regulatory & licence-related people governance - ensure workforce capability fitness & propriety considerations (where applicable) and role clarity support C&S licence obligations and operational risk expectations

Talent Management

  • Embed Talent Framework to attract develop and retain the right future-fit capabilities

  • Leads divisional talent mapping succession planning and critical role identification and action plans

  • Support C&S LT team effectiveness / leadership team interventions

  • Partner with P&C CoEs to implement initiatives supporting retention of critical resources and talent

Employee Relations

  • Advises on risk mitigation and partners with Senior Leaders on complex and sensitive people matters

  • Analyse trends and metrics in partnership with the broader P&C team to develop solutions programs and policies as needed

  • Advise and help to resolve complex employee relations issues in conjunction with P&C Advice and Operations HR Advisers and Legal and support the uplift in Leader capability to manage performance

Key Deliverables / Success Measures

  • Workforce strategy and plan established for the new C&S division (operating model capability priorities and resourcing approach) aligned to enterprise P&C strategy

  • Critical roles identified with succession and contingency coverage implemented (including cross-training where required) to reduce key-person risk and support operational resilience

  • Improved resourcing outcomes for scarce/critical skill roles (e.g. time-to-fill offer acceptance quality of hire) and reduced regretted attrition with agreed interventions delivered

  • Effective management of complex employee relations matters with timely resolution appropriate escalation and reduced recurrence through systemic fixes

  • People insights and governance cadence embedded (people metrics pack and decision forums such as SOR talent/organisation reviews) enabling timely prioritisation transparent actions and improved stakeholder outcomes

  • Prepare Board papers and attend the C&S Board as required providing clear people insights updates and recommendations

  • People risk and compliance actions (audit findings incidents policy adherence control management and testing)

Must have

  • 10 years experience in a Business Partner role

  • Experience of strategic business partnering at an executive level

  • Strong commercial / business acumen ability to translate strategy into business plans and demonstrate critical thinking

  • Proven track record of building effective relationships and influencing senior stakeholders

  • Ability to identify/analyse business priorities internal and market trends and advise Senior Leaders on people strategy/ priorities

  • Experience partnering in regulated environments (financial services markets infrastructure payments banking critical operations)

  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale change (org design restructures integration operating model shifts)

  • Strong competence in risk-based HR (balancing commercial outcomes with compliance and employee risk)

  • Experience driving culture programs including embedding company values and vision

  • Excellent communication interpersonal and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently whilst also supporting and contributing to the success of the P&C function

  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced constantly changing and dynamic environment

  • Ability to identify issues across the organisation and work in partnership with P&C and Leaders to implement solutions

Nice to have

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR/Business discipline

  • Experience within a listed corporate or professional services organisation

  • Exposure to risk/compliance frameworks accountability regimes or audit remediation

  • Experience supporting 24/7 or operational workforces (shift impacts critical incident response)
