Job Summary

Description

Engineers must possess strong knowledge of material handling fundamentals warehouse operations and AGV/AMR automation processes.



Responsibilities
  • Build and validate Plant Simulation models for machining assembly and material handling systems.

  • Understand the Throughput and Material Flow simulation procedures and implement the same

  • Implement control logic and automation using SimTalk scripting.

  • Collaborate with process owners (BoP Owners/ Program teams) for input collection and compile and review the results

  • Throughput Simulation

    • Model gantry and conveyor configurations

    • Quantify line throughput with station utilization charts

    • Identify bottlenecks and quantify losses due to downtimes and quality

    • Propose actionable insights to mitigate losses and improve throughput

    • Run buffer / pallet sensitivity analysis to optimize the resources

  • Material flow Analysis.

  • Perform overall flow map of products through the facility

  • Produce aisle heat map for trips per hour for each aisle way

  • Optimize Material flow and collaborate with the proper personnel to facilitate those optimization opportunities.

  • Provide data to the team for PMHV planning.

  • Provide data to industrial engineer for labor planning

  • Calculate the utilization of the point of fit (PoF) docks.

  • Collaborate on the shift scheduling projects to assist in reducing inventories.

  • Collaborate with teams for continuous improvements.

  • Analyze simulation results and communicate opportunities (Cost avoidance/ Investment efficiency/ JPH Increase) to the team.

  • Present findings through clear dashboards and executive summaries.



Qualifications
  • 13 years of hands-on experience with Siemens Plant Simulation and SimTalk programming.

  • Professional Knowledge and strong Skills on:Discrete Event Simulation /Programming /Auto CAD /MS Office

  • Knowledge of lean principles and intralogistics systems.

  • Read & Analyze process flow diagram

  • Strong Logic building ability.

  • Data analytics & Interpretation skills

  • Ability to work independently when required

  • Excellent Communication Customer relation skills as well as ability to work with a diverse team

  • Candidates should be flexible to work in shift if necessary.
