Environmental Field Technician

Role accountabilities:

As an entry-level Environmental Field Technician you will coordinate and execute activities assigned by Project Managers pertaining to the execution of environmental projects including environmental site assessments risk assessments and remediation projects. This includes conducting site visits and inspections monitoring and supervising drilling and/or remediation activities preparing field notes and collecting soil and groundwater samples and writing environmental reports.

Responsibilities will include:

• Strong understanding of field protocols including soil groundwater and vapour sampling and overseeing drilling activities and subcontractor management
• Maintain knowledge and familiarity with provincial and federal regulatory frameworks (.153)
• Diligent interpretation of environmental data
• Comparison of sample results to applicable guidelines and standards
• Preparation of reports documenting the results of investigation programs

We are seeking a detail-oriented candidate withstrong attention to detail and accuracy excellentcommunication interpersonal and writing skills and proven proficiency inMicrosoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint).

Field work for this position is required up to 50% of the time with assignments throughout the region and across Canada. Typical travel consists of 1 to 3 weeks per month and may involve overnight stays. The role is balanced between approximately 50% field work and 50% office-based tasks with increased field work expected during the summer and fall seasons.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Technical Diploma or bachelors degree in environmental science engineering earth sciences or related field
• 1 years experience in soil groundwater or vapour sampling and overseeing drilling activities and subcontractor management preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• CTech or CET or eligibility for . or . considered an asset
