Faculty Position Part-Time Intermediate School Latin Teacher

The Intermediate School Latin Teacher vacancy is a part-time position reporting directly to the Head of Intermediate School starting with the 2026-27 academic year. This position is responsible for teaching two sections of Latin to students in grades 7-8.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach two sections of Intermediate School Latin.
• Prepare lesson plans following curriculum guidelines and requirements.
• Teach the assigned curriculum using different instructional resources.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities by integrating competencies and goals into the lesson plans.
• Keep attendance records; manage student behavior in the classroom and maintain a positive educational environment for all students.
• Correct assignments administer tests observe and evaluate students progress.
• Participate in faculty and professional meetings educational conferences and other teacher training workshops.
• Demonstrate qualities to inspire student learning including an understanding of the characteristics of the age group taught.
• Work in an organized dependable patient and creative manner.
• Provide students with additional support outside of class as needed
• Communicate with the IS team and parents regarding student academic concerns
• Design and execute one on-campus cultural experience or field trip for each class
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree required.
• Fluency in Latin required.
• A minimum of two years teaching experience at the Middle School level.
• Skilled in writing and preparing lesson plans.
• Ability to communicate motivate and understand the students educational and emotional needs.
• Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with other teachers support staff parents and members of the community.
• Ability to recognize and respond to individual and cultural differences in students and utilize different teaching methods that will result in higher student achievement.
