About the Role:
Volochem is a fast-paced Contract Research Organization (CRO) dedicated to providing top-tier service to our global clientele. We are seeking a highly motivated Supply Chain Professional to join our expanding team in Hyderabad.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the end-to-end procurement and logistics lifecycle ensuring that our laboratory operations have the necessary resources to maintain excellence.
Roles & Responsibilities:
He/she will be responsible for domestic and international sourcing vendor management and complex logistics.
Key duties include:
- Procurement & Sourcing: Source laboratory chemicals in both domestic and international markets.
- Asset Management: Oversee the procurement of capital equipment lab consumables spares and various services.
- Purchase Administration: Review and process purchase orders while maintaining accurate records of all goods and services ordered and received.
- Vendor Relations: Evaluate and manage vendor performance.
- Negotiation: Negotiate pricing delivery schedules and favorable terms and conditions for all purchases.
- Inbound/Outbound Logistics: Coordinate raw material imports including duty payments and customs clearance. Manage sample exports by preparing documentation booking shipments and tracking progress.
- Financial Coordination: Match invoices with received goods process Goods Receipt Purchase Orders (GRPO) and submit necessary import/purchase documentation to the Accounts department.
- Inventory & Planning: Coordinate with the internal team to monitor inventory levels determine supply needs and ensure the timely fulfillment of all requisitions.
- Reporting: Prepare weekly status updates and monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency with business software is required. Experience with an ERP or accounting platform (such as SAP B1 or Xero) is a plus with the flexibility to adapt as our systems evolve.
- Industry Context: Experience in a fast-paced environment preferably within a CRO or laboratory setting is essential.
- Functional Expertise: Proven track record in international sourcing customs clearance and import/export documentation.
Required Skills:
- Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
- Negotiation: Strong interpersonal and bargaining skills to secure optimal terms with vendors.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in maintaining records matching invoices and preparing shipping documentation.
- Analytical Reporting: Ability to synthesize data into clear MIS and status reports.
