As a Technical Support Specialist within the Networks team you play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our global Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and LAN connectivity services. You will analyse and resolve complex network issues while providing 24/7 operational support collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive incident resolution. Your expertise in LAN and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) design and advanced troubleshooting will be pivotal to our transition towards a hybrid network enhancing our service delivery for IT Wireless network solutions.
Your responsibilities
Provide expert IT service management in Incident Problem and Change Management for Local Area Network Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and ClearPass Policy Manager (CPPM) technologies.
Analyse and resolve complex production network issues while ensuring reliable service operation for IT Wireless network services.
Administer service requests execute network changes and manage escalated incidents or priority incidents end-to-end.
Collaborate with cross-technology teams to provide timely updates and coordinate incident resolutions.
Identify causes of network incidents and develop preventive actions while adhering to change management processes.
Follow troubleshooting mechanisms stated in SOPs and suggest corrective action or capture logs
Work in 24x7 support model and provide required shift handover
Own incident ticket resolution end-to-end and co-ordinations
Coordinate with cross-functional technology technical team to resolve the incident
Track intermediate issue until its closure working with multiple stakeholder
Follow the problem mgmt. process to get the root cause and problem task closure
Engage with Internal Teams/Vendor/TAC to troubleshoot the issue and escalate to get is resolved.
Additional duties as required and possible remote implementation assistance on special projects.
Helping in ticket management and reporting tasks
Hands & eye support co-ordination and vendor dispatch
Mentor junior team members while staying updated on industry trends in network security technologies.
Drive results and foster a strong customer focus in a dynamic global team environment.
Your skills and experience
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Telecommunications Information Technology Computer Science or equivalent with
9 years of experience in network services within complex environments - Deep knowledge in Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) design/configuration specifically with Aruba Access Points and Controllers
- Proficiency in authentication protocols like RADIUS TACACS and LDAP
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong in network technologies (OSPF LAG VPLS TCP/IP VRRP MPLS etc.)
It would be nice if you also had:
- Relevant certifications (e.g. ACCP ACMA ACCX NRS-1 NRS-2 CCNP(R&S))
- Knowledge of scripting and automation tools for network management
- Experience in configuration and management of Cisco ISE
Required Skills:
Strong understanding of DR technologies backup solutions cloud DR and recovery procedures. Experience in conducting DR testing documentation and reporting.
