Greenhouse Production Assistant Supervisor

Position Overview

The Elle Room Assistant Supervisor supports daily planting operations in a fast-paced production environment. This role helps supervise staff working with tissue culture cuttings and transplant step ups while ensuring productivity accuracy and quality standards are met. The Assistant Supervisor coordinates people materials and information to keep work moving efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support employees performing planting transplanting and step up activities
• Instruct and coach staff on proper planting techniques and specifications
• Coordinate and direct up to 50 employees in the Elle Room Cedar Break and other areas when the Elle Room is not running
• Organize daily worklists and clearly communicate plans and priorities to production staff
• Distribute planting materials labels and instructions in an organized manner to maintain flow and prevent plant variety mix ups
• Create tray labels including employee labels and plant identification
• Communicate with end of line scanning quality control and machine operators regarding tray counts priorities and workflow
• Coordinate with Harvesting Processing Central and AC Range teams
• Ensure scanners and other technology are functioning properly and contact IT when assistance is needed
• Support Quality Control staff by reporting quality issues and performing end-of-line quality checks
• Review and edit timecards for Elle Room staff
• Complete additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Supervisor Coverage Duties

When covering supervisor vacation days or absences the Assistant Supervisor will also:

• Manage time and attendance processes
• Run daily and weekly worksheets for teams
• Generate reports to monitor progress toward weekly completion goals
• Utilize and maintain labor planning spreadsheets to support staffing and productivity planning

• Ability to coach and motivate staff while maintaining performance standards
• Attention to detail in quality control documentation and reporting
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced production environment
• Comfortable working collaboratively across departments and leadership teams
• Commitment to safety accuracy and continuous improvement
• Basic working knowledge of Outlook Excel PowerPoint and Google Docs
• Hi lo license required or ability to obtain
• Fluency in Spanish and English required
