QC Inspector Lead
Type: In-Office Full-Time

Location: Edmonton AB

6-month contract position with possible extension up to 1 year.

Key Responsibilities

As the QC Inspector Lead you will ensure that all products and processes meet strict quality standards while leading and supporting the inspection team.

Quality Assurance & Inspection Oversight

  • Lead and coordinate daily inspection activities ensuring components raw materials and finished products meet design specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform and oversee inspections tests and evaluations throughout the manufacturing process to identify defects and ensure compliance.

Calibration & Compliance Management

  • Oversee the calibration of inspection and measurement equipment to ensure accuracy and consistency in quality assessments.
  • Maintain accurate calibration records and ensure all quality practices align with ISO standards and internal procedures.

Non-Conformance & Continuous Improvement

  • Review issue and manage non-conformance reports partnering with production teams to resolve quality issues effectively.
  • Analyze trends and identify opportunities for process improvement implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide leadership mentorship and direction to QC inspectors ensuring high performance and consistency in execution.
  • Support training and development initiatives to strengthen team capabilities and maintain quality excellence.

Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Prepare and present quality reports metrics and findings to management offering insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with production engineering and leadership teams to align on quality objectives and resolve issues proactively.

Health Safety & Environmental Compliance

  • Ensure all quality control activities comply with health safety and environmental standards and procedures.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by reinforcing best practices and ensuring adherence to QHSE policies.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; technical or trade certification is considered an asset.
  • 35 years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing or industrial environment including leadership or supervisory experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of quality inspection processes tools and methodologies.
  • Experience in machining environments with CMM equipment is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards and experience with precision tool calibration.
