    Rolling Meadows High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our dynamic team. We are committed to fostering a cooperative supportive and respectful environment where students thrive both academically and personally. We are looking for educators who are eager to collaborate utilize student-centered teaching strategies and actively participate in professional learning communities.

    Our ideal candidate has a strong background in biology and chemistry along with an endorsement in agricultural education. We are looking for a collaborative educator who uses inquiry-based lessons and hands-on fieldwork to engage students. You should be dedicated to helping students analyze complex environmental issues and develop sustainable real-world solutions through critical thinking.

    Science Teacher (Biology/Chemistry) ï½ 0.5 FTE

    Specific Qualifications:

    • State of Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) with a Senior HS endorsement in Biology and Chemistry.
    • Agricultural Education endorsement preferred; willingness to pursue the endorsement is desirable.
    • The applicant must be an experienced outstanding educator and be willing to teach all levels of science including Skills and/or LEP (Limited English Proficiency).
    • Must have a strong background in science (and if applicable math) instruction and standards driven curriculum.
    • Must be able and willing to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
    • Must work effectively within our Professional Learning Team model which means working with teams of teachers to develop creative instructional strategies and resources based on best practices which enable our students to exceed state goals and standards.
    • It is expected that the teacher will utilize research-based instructional strategies for increasing student achievement and strive to become a distinguished educator.
    • Must be well-versed in a wide variety of assessment practices that maximize student learning (formative summative selected response extended written response performance based.)
    • Demonstrate a wide variety of instructional methods & practices to meet individual student needs.
    • Provide opportunities for students to achieve daily objectives.
    • Communicate with students and parents regarding student progress.
    • Establish and maintain a professional growth plan.
    • Possess and continue to develop technology skills.
    • Complete administrative duties in a timely fashion.
    • Coordinate and share instructional lessons with other team members.
    • Assist in implementation of school-wide improvement plan.
    • Perform other tasks assigned by building administration or designee.
    • Support building extracurricular activities as a coach or sponsor.
