.Captain on the bridge for the respective product within the Hellmann Benelux organization. He/she is accountable for the product strategy product portfolio and processes within the Benelux cluster as well as to achieve maximum profitability and identify best use of business assets. This means gathering and prioritizing product vision at local levels functionally leading the branch managers and working closely with Operations Marketing and Sales to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. This role will be reporting to the Managing Director and vertical product leaders within the Hellmann group.
About the Job
- Implements a countrywide blueprint for Airfreight Operations including centralization of selected activities/flows within a globally agreed framework;
- Leads Airfreight Operations in Branches (Customer Service and Operational Service) to ensure operational efficiency and alignment with company goals;
- Takes accountability for Country Airfreight productivity quality and customer performance to drive improvements and ensures timely and accurate invoicing and job costing in Airfreight Operations;
- Ensures country Airfreight operations are compliant with external regulations and internal policies (incl. e.g. Airfreight Safety and Security dangerous goods qualifications good distribution practice compliance);
- Consults on and approves hiring for Airfreight positions in Branches to ensure the recruitment of qualified candidates that align with operational needs;
- Develops new business jointly with country managing director and Sales management. Directs efforts of Field Sales in alignment with Sales Management. Develops and maintains relationships with major customers;
- Manages local Airfreight procurement and subcontractor performance and compliance in line with global carrier strategy and standards;
- Implements aligned global and regional Airfreight projects to ensure consistency and successful execution across all regions.
About You
- A broad experience in a leadership role within air freight forwarding;
- A strong focus on strategy complemented by strong people management skills;
- A perfect mastery of Dutch and English. This both in writing and verbally;
- A digital mindset with an eye for innovation and progress;
- Your focus is on building bridges between different departments and helping people grow;
- You are willing to travel between our different business units on a regular basis (Aalsmeer Vilvoorde and Maastricht).
