As a Senior CT and MRIRadiographer at our Derby Hospital youll have a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent) a postgraduate qualification and high levels of technical knowledge. Ideally youll also have Radiation Protection Supervisor training and qualification as well as the ability to work accurately and compassionately.

As a SeniorCT / MRI Radiographer youwill:

  • Have a postgraduate qualification and/ or high levels of technical knowledge and experience (desirable)

  • Have experience in a wide variety of MRI and CT scans including Cardiac MRI and/or Cardiac CT (desirable)

  • Have experience with GE MRI and GE CT scanners (desirable)

  • Have an understanding and empathetic approach to patients and staff alike.

  • Be respectful towards all individuals including staff patients and visitors.

  • Supervise and develop junior colleagues

  • Ensure a service of the highest quality is delivered with sensitivity and compassion

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork abilities

  • Have a proactive and forward-thinking approach to work

  • Competency in intravenous cannulation and administration of contrast media is essential

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload

  • Be highly proficient in the use of all equipment within scope of practice

  • Responsible for MRI Safety in line with local rules

  • To work within IRMER and own scope of practice in accordance with the code of conduct set out by the HCPC

  • Participate in departmental audits and Quality Assurance programme

  • Provide support to the Clinical Lead Radiographers.

  • Ensure equipment is safe and fit for purpose and can report faults in line with Nuffield Health Policy

  • Provide input to the review update and implementation of departmental policy and procedures

  • Comply with all Nuffield Health polices and procedures

  • Ensure all records are maintained in line with statutory and organisational requirements

About Nuffield Health Derby Hospital

The Nuffield Health DerbyHospital is a modern purpose-built hospital with 38 en-suite beds three operating theatres and together with a comprehensive range of outpatient services.

The Radiology department is a small but busy department covering general radiographic procedures theatre ultrasound MRI and CT. Set in beautiful grounds were about 3 miles from the city centre within easy reach of all major roads and bus routes.
