Whatyou will be doing: Reports to the center director. Directly supervises the secretary II safety/security manager & transportation manager residential living manager and recreation supervisor. Responsible for the management of residential living recreation safety & security and transportation in compliance with government and management directives.
Essential functions:
1. Plan coordinate and manage the administrative and programmatic activities of the directorate.
2. Provide staff training evaluate staff performance and implement departmental changes as approved by center director and coordinated with the manager human resources prior to implementation.
3. Develop and monitor departmental budget; control expenditures; review and recommend changes to budget authorizations.
4. Develop and implement new and revised policies procedures and programs affecting the directorate; coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with overall center objectives.
5. Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports.
6. Provide staff training both group and individual in all areas affecting the community life directorate.
7. Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.
8. Assist in the development of community linkages and volunteer opportunities for students; coordinate with other staff and local community resources in the provision of services to students.
9. Monitor shift schedules; plan and direct work assignments and schedules of activities. Manage the scheduling and operation of center-sponsored recreation activities and programs.
10. Control documentation and maintenance of records for all the community living areas; compile status report for areas of responsibility.
11. Monitor safety inspections of all center areas; recommend facility maintenance when needed.
12. Works closely with the transportation supervisor to ensure proper scheduling to incorporate work based learning leisure time employment college students as well as assisting with recreational and dormitory trips.
13. Provide support and guidance to staff in dealing with behavior of students and resolving individual or group situations.
14. Log responsible activities into the MTC Student App and ensure timely responses to students request to register.
15. Ensure directorate maintains safe and clean work areas that model high standards for work environments.
16. Provide positive quality customer services to students staff and other center customers.
17. Participate in student employability programs and activities.
18. Support promote and enforce the Job Corps Zero Tolerance Policy.
19. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
20. Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
21. Cultivate and maintain a climate on center which is free of harassment intimidation and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education & experience:
- Bachelors degree and three years related experience two of should be in a supervisory capacity. Experience with youth excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency also required.
