Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester

Job Summary

An organization is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester (Journeyman) to support advanced modeling and simulation environments. This role focuses on component-level software testing validating system performance and ensuring software quality prior to full system integration.

What You Can Expect to Do:

• Write and execute test cases for individual software components
• Document test processes execution results and findings
• Analyze test reports and performance metrics
• Validate software functionality prior to system integration
• Use command-line tools scripts and test stubs/mocks for validation
• Identify document and report software defects using tracking tools
• Participate in software design reviews and provide feedback on requirements and performance
• Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues
• Support testing activities within Linux-based and DevOps environments

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in a technical field OR High School diploma with relevant experience
• 3 years of experience in software testing
• Experience with component-level testing of software modules
• Experience developing test plans and test cases
• Proficiency with command-line tools scripting and testing techniques
• Experience working in Linux environments
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab Bitbucket Azure DevOps)
• Experience using defect tracking tools (e.g. Jira)
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in Agile environments (sprints PI planning etc.)
• Experience with testing tools such as gcov
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira Confluence Bitbucket etc.)
• Experience supporting modeling and simulation environments
• Experience with automated testing
• Experience supporting DoD-related programs
