Job Summary

Role Overview

We are looking for a Technical Advisor specializing in hydraulic engineering to support water quality and ecological improvement projects under the Water Framework Directive (WFD) program running until 2027.

You will contribute to the realization of projects such as tidal nature areas nature-friendly riverbanks and ecological water systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical advice on hydraulic engineering (e.g. seepage water permits)
  • Develop principle notes and system specifications
  • Review and assess designs for quality and compliance
  • Monitor adherence to agreements and technical standards
  • Identify and mitigate risks and deviations
  • Support quality assurance across project phases
  • Review delivery and completion documentation
  • Prepare reports and recommend process improvements
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and share knowledge

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience in hydraulic engineering (design and execution)
  • Masters degree in Civil Engineering or similar
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Hydraulic engineering and river morphology
    • Waterway design and hydraulic loads
    • Hydraulic modelling tools
  • Experience working on complex multidisciplinary projects
  • Knowledge of the Water Framework Directive (WFD)
  • Valid VOL-VCA certificate (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)

Preferred

  • Experience with system-oriented contract management (SCB)
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g. Relatics)
