UnderthesupervisionoftheAssociate Dean Skilled Trades & ApprenticeshiptheSkilled TradesInstructorConstruction(Instructor) provides academic leadership and develops an effective learning environment inSkilled Trades Construction relatedprogramsshop and classroom. Theinstructordevelops delivers and evaluates students within pre-apprenticeship and post-secondary skilled trades programs.

Program Planning & Delivery50%
- Designs and delivers curriculum aligned withestablished learning outcomes that may includeSkills Trades Ontario and SNP learningobjectives. This includes preparing lesson plans instructional materials and teaching both theory and practical skills in classroom and shop settings.
- Developing course outlines and assignmentsto support learner progress and program requirements.
- Demonstrating safeand proper use of tools andequipmentensuring students follow all safety protocols.
- Maintaining a cleanorganizedand safe shop environmentensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Other related duties asrequired.
Student Evaluation & Support 15%
- Assesses student progress using various evaluation methodsmaintainsrecords and provides academic support through consultation and referrals.
- Submitting evaluationsand gradesin accordance withprogram timelines and institutional requirements.
- Tracking attendance and performanceto ensure compliance with program expectations and toidentifysupport needs.
- Referring students to supportservices topromote learner success and retention.
- Other related duties asrequired.
Program Operation & Resources Management25%
- Supports day-to-day operations of the shop and program including inventory management equipment maintenance and input on scheduling and curriculum development.
- Preparing purchase ordersto ensure tools supplies and materials are available to meet instructional materials preparation as needed.
- Reporting equipment issuesto ensuretimelyrepairs and safe operation of all shop resources.
- Advising onprogram needsproviding input on equipment upgrades resource planning and operational improvements that support program quality and delivery.
- Other related duties asrequired.
Institutional/ Program Engagement & Administration10%
- Participates in institutional activities adheres to policies and contributes to planning and reporting. Supports events and collaborative initiatives across SNPbyattendingmeetings and training supporting orientation and annual celebration and contributing to policy development.

EDUCATIONAL KNOWLEDGE
Completion of post-secondary college or university of one to two years in training in Construction or home building related trade is required.
Certificate of Apprenticeship or Certificate of Qualification for the program of instructionor Red Sealis an asset.
EXPERIENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / CULTURE AND LANGUAGE EXPERTISE
Over 3 years and including 5 years of relevant industry experience inconstruction related tradeincluding hands-on work with tools equipment and safety procedures in a skilledtradesenvironment.
Experience in instructional delivery within post-secondary orskilled tradesprograms including curriculum developmentandstudent with administrative processes record-keeping and stakeholder engagement is alsorequired.
Criminal Record Check
The successful candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Background Check Vulnerable Sector Screening that is satisfactory to Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP) prior to the first day of work at Six Nations Polytechnic and an Offence Declaration that is satisfactory to SNP by their first day of employment at Six Nations Polytechnic.
