Laboratory Specialist - Technical Operations

The Laboratory Specialist Technical Operations supports daily laboratory activities that enable the development characterization optimization and lifecycle management of therapeutic products and their associated processes. The role performs routine and moderately complex laboratory work generates reliable data and ensures that all activities are carried out in accordance with established procedures quality expectations and applicable regulatory requirements.

The incumbent applies foundational scientific knowledge and practical laboratory skills to support experimental execution equipment operation data recording and basic troubleshooting under the guidance of more senior colleagues. Working within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) and in collaboration with crossfunctional partners the role helps maintain consistent laboratory operations and contributes to program objectives across early development latestage readiness and commercial support.

Operating within a matrix environment the Laboratory Specialist maintains a safe and compliant laboratory supports continuous improvement initiatives and contributes to daytoday technical execution that strengthens product and process understanding.

Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Perform routine laboratory activities such as sample preparation execution of test methods or experimental tasks and operation of laboratory equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Document all laboratory work in a timely accurate and contemporaneous manner using Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) systems and other electronic datacapture tools ensuring full compliance with dataintegrity and documentation standards.
  • Support basic troubleshooting of laboratory methods equipment and workflows under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Contribute to the generation of accurate and reliable data perform preliminary data checks and communicate observations to supervisors or project leads.
  • Participate in deviations investigations and changecontrol processes by providing factual information supporting documentation and relevant technical observations.
  • Collaborate within the Integrated Product Team (IPT) and across Technical Operations to support development technology transfer operational execution and lifecyclemanagement activities.
  • Uphold and promote safety standards by adhering to EHS policies ensuring proper handling of materials and maintaining compliance with required training.
  • Identify opportunities to improve laboratory workflows documentation practices and operational efficiency.

Job Specifications & Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant scientific or technical discipline (e.g. biotechnology biochemistry engineering life sciences) or equivalent practical laboratory experience.
  • Approximately 5 years of laboratory experience gained through industry academia internships or practical coursework.
  • Awareness of laboratory safety standards foundational scientific principles and good documentation practices.
  • Familiarity with common laboratory equipment and techniques such as pH measurement pipetting centrifugation and basic instrumentation operation.
  • Strong attention to detail reliability and a commitment to highquality work.
  • Ability to learn new laboratory methods quickly and work effectively under moderate supervision.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to collaborate within team environments.
  • Demonstrated motivation to contribute to continuous improvement and laboratory excellence.
