5th Grade English Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher

Responsibilities:

• Understand student learning and development and respect the diversity of the students
• Know and understand the content area
• Understand and use varied assessments to inform instruction evaluate and ensure student learning
• Plan and deliver effective instruction that advances the learning of each individual student
• Create learning environments that promote high levels of learning and achievement for all students
• Collaborate and communicate with students parents other educators administrators and the community to support student learning
• Assume responsibility for professional growth performance and involvement as an individual and as a member of a learning community
• Ensure the safety of students
• Effectively manage the classroom
• Effectively manage and operate district technology
• Perform other duties as assigned by Administration

Qualifications

• Hold a bachelors degree in education with appropriate subject area from an accredited college/university
• Complete a state-approved teacher preparation program
• Hold a valid and appropriate State of Ohio certification/license for the job posting
• Undergo or have a current state and federal criminal background check.

Additional Working Conditions

• Occasional exposure to blood bodily fluids and tissue
• Frequent requirement to sit stand walk talk hear see read speak reach stretch with hands and arms crouch kneel climb and stoop
• Occasionally lift carry push and pull various items up to a maximum of 25 pounds
• Occasional evening work
• Frequent repetitive hand motion e.g. computer keyboard calculator writing
