The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing shift operations within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role ensures production targets are met while maintaining safety quality and efficiency standards. The supervisor acts as the key link between operators maintenance and quality teams ensuring smooth execution of daily plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and lead all production activities during assigned shift
Ensure production schedules are executed on time and output targets are met
Oversee machine startups mold changeovers and line readiness
Monitor key performance indicators including downtime scrap and efficiency
Enforce GMP SOPs and plant safety regulations across the floor
Lead coach and develop production operators and team leads
Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback
Manage shift staffing and workforce allocation
Drive Lean Manufacturing 5S and continuous improvement initiatives
Troubleshoot production and equipment issues in real time
Work closely with Quality to resolve defects and production issues
Maintain accurate shift reports ERP data entries and production records
Coordinate with maintenance for preventive and corrective work
Ensure effective communication during shift handovers
Promote accountability safety and productivity culture
Required Qualifications
2 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience leading production teams in a plant setting
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and workflow
Ability to manage shift performance KPIs and production output
Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in plastic injection molding or packaging manufacturing
Knowledge of mold setup changeovers and troubleshooting
Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience (5S Kaizen)
Experience with ERP systems in manufacturing environments
Nice to Have
Forklift or crane certification
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365
Exposure to automotive or high-volume production industries
Must be comfortable working 12-hour rotating shifts
