PRN Respiratory Therapist Home Medical Equipment & VA Services
Overview
Seeking a flexible Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) to provide per-diem support in the Moline Illinois area. This unique opportunity focuses on VA contract work CPAP/ventilator setups and value-based care strategies allowing you to create your own schedule while supporting critical patient care needs.
Work Environment
This per-diem role involves flexible scheduling with opportunities to support patient equipment setups primarily for VA patients standard CPAP/ventilator setups and ventilator maintenance. Youll work independently with schedule flexibility (office hours 9am-4pm) coordinating patient visits based on your availability. Approximately 15-25 hours per week expected.
Key Responsibilities
VA contract patient setups and maintenance
Standard CPAP and ventilator setups
Ventilator maintenance services
Gaps in Care and COPD Bridge program support
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments
Provide equipment education
Monitor respiratory equipment function
Communicate patient findings to physicians
Maintain accurate documentation
Emergency on-call for invasive ventilators only
Required:
Active RRT or CRT licensure in Illinois (required due to VA contract)
Valid drivers license with clean driving record
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Strong clinical assessment skills
Excellent communication abilities
Ability to work independently
Willingness to travel within large service radius
Preferred:
Completion of accredited respiratory care program
Home respiratory care experience
VA healthcare experience
Degree in respiratory therapy or related science
One year of related work experience
Experience with value-based care strategies
Physical Demands
Lift and carry office equipment at times
Requires close vision to small print on computer and/or tablet and paperwork
Requires contact with patients and equipment with potential exposure to contagious pathogens
Requires occasional lifting and transporting of patient equipment
Requires sitting walking standing talking and listening
Required to comply with Respiratory Protection & N95 Mask Fit Testing Policy:
Medical evaluation and fit testing compliance in a timely manner
Annual recertification
Keep face clean-shaven to ensure N95 mask face-seal protection per OSHA guidelines
