Its all part of the day job as a Jetstar Engineer whether youre on the frontline as a Maintenance Engineer or in our Engineering Corporate & Support Team ensuring that we land deadlines keep projects on track and work as a team to help us transform our fleet for the better.

Your opportunity

As the Engineering Training Instructor Technical Trainer you will be responsible for providing consistent and timely training delivery with a focus on our Technical Training needs - predominantly for A320 and B787 Aircrafts.

Reporting to the Engineering Training Manager you will also be required to facilitate and help support our non-technical training requirements from time to time delivering training such as Human Factors.

Youll be responsible for:

  • Deliver compliance and technical training in line with the training schedule ensuring all materials remain current and aligned with Quality Standards.
  • Work closely with the Training Coordinator and Training Developer to maximise class efficiency and ensure training content reflects current practices and approved procedures.
  • Deliver and support technical training across areas including Engine Ground Runs Towing Borescope Inspections Working Safely at Heights A CAT and Documents and Procedures.
  • Implement and apply competency-based training and assessments to measure learner performance and the quality of training programs and materials.
  • Ensure all training records and reports are accurately uploaded and maintained in the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Provide subject matter expertise as a former Licensed Aircraft Engineer including licence experience on A320 and B787 aircraft to support and facilitate technical training delivery.
  • Maintain currency of knowledge and skills through ongoing learning to ensure accuracy and consistency in training delivery at all times.
  • Provide learning and development expertise professional guidance and ongoing support to the business.
  • Promote a consultative and collaborative approach to training through strong internal stakeholder relationships.
  • Collaborate with the business and training coordinators to ensure training is delivered as intended to the appropriate audience.
  • Support training coordination activities as required including assisting with forward planning of the annual training calendar and minimising cancellations of scheduled sessions.
  • Act as a back-up for the Non-Technical Instructor when required and work alongside other Training Instructors to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role ideally youll have:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent). A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
  • An Australian (CASA) Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License preferably type rated on company aircraft (A320/1 or B787) in the B1.1 or B2 category
  • Minimum five years experience delivering technical or compliance training within an aviation or similarly regulated environment.
  • Proven ability to plan prioritise and meet deadlines in a structured and fast-paced setting.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also operating effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to manage ambiguity complexity and confidential information appropriately.
  • Demonstrated capability to work cross-functionally and apply both critical and strategic thinking to training delivery and improvement.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • High level of computer literacy including strong experience using Microsoft Office applications and learning management systems.
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to identify learner and stakeholder needs and tailor training solutions accordingly.
  • The ability to travel to other ports (Australia & New Zealand) to deliver face-to-face training when required.
