Job Summary

Mater is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our Human Resources team in Townsville. This is a pivotal role supporting the health and safety of our people across Mater. Starting Salary: $93103 per annum plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15900access to many staff benefits!

What youll be doing

In this role youll provide expert safety advice support incident and injury management and contribute to the ongoing improvement of Maters health and safety systems. Youll work closely with leaders Health & Safety Representatives and the broader WHS team to ensure compliance reduce risk and maintain safe and healthy workplaces for all.

  • Provide daytoday WHS support coaching and guidance to managers and employees
  • Support the facilitation of risk assessments audits inspections and incident investigations
  • Develop WHS procedures documents and reports
  • Contribute to safety initiatives wellbeing programs and continuous improvement
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

About you

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
  • 2 years experience in a similar WHS role
  • Healthcare experience highly desirable
  • Knowledge of WHS legislation investigations and risk management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Advanced MS Office skills and experience with incident/injury management systems
