Job Description:

Job Title: F5 Engineer

Location: LATAM Mexico and Costa Rica only (Remote)
Duration: 10-month contract

Rate: $25-30/hr on W2

Overview

Operations-focused engineers are responsible for supporting troubleshooting and safely executing changes on enterprise F5 Load Balancing Platforms and related Network/Security Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot complex F5 issues using a structured approach (data collection hypothesis testing validation) and clearly document steps and outcomes.
  • Support and manage High Availability (HA) and Failover Scenarios including planned and incident-driven failovers involving Load Balancers Firewalls and DNS/IPAM (Infoblox).
  • Validate Health Monitoring and Failure Detection Mechanisms (node/link/switch failures pool member health routing reachability) and confirm expected failover behavior.
  • Lead or support Incident Response for service-impacting events; drive Mitigation Restoration and Communication.
  • Perform Risk-Assessed Changes in production (maintenance migrations tuning) following Change Management processes and Rollback Plans.
  • Troubleshoot Application Connectivity to VIPs and Traffic Flow Issues across load balancers and firewalls; verify End-to-End Network Behavior.
  • Collaborate with Network Security and Application Teams to assess downstream impacts and prevent regressions.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with F5 (BIG-IP) in enterprise environments.
  • Proven Production Support / Operations Experience beyond basic configuration.
  • Expertise in L3/L4/L7 Troubleshooting including VIP Reachability and traffic flow issues.
  • Experience with High Availability (HA) Failover Orchestration and Validation.
  • Ability to work within Standards Risk Boundaries and maintain a Proactive Analytical Mindset.
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills including Incident & Change Communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Cisco Routing & Switching Fortinet Firewalls Zscaler and DNS/IPAM (Infoblox).
  • Experience leading High-Severity Incidents Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Problem Management.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP (or equivalent).

Working Conditions

  • Participation in On-Call Rotation and support for 24x7 Global Operations.
  • May require Onsite Work and Weekend / After-Hours Maintenance windows.
