Maroondah Addictions Recovery Program (MARP) is a 23bed Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) residential rehabilitation service based in Healesville. The program provides short and longerterm rehabilitation for individuals seeking recovery from problematic AOD use and complex comorbidities.
Residents participate in a structured therapeutic environment that includes intensive group programs daily routines and oneonone counselling delivered within a traumainformed recoveryfocused framework.
About the Role
We are seeking a Support Worker AOD who brings empathy professional boundaries and a strong recoveryoriented approach.
Youll play a key role in supporting residents through their daily routines and therapeutic program while contributing to a safe consistent residential environment alongside a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Engagement: Facilitate resident participation in groups counselling and daily program activities.
- Assist Daily Living: Provide practical support with meals chores shopping and medication dispensing.
- Promote Recovery Participation: Encourage involvement in AA/NA meetings and other recovery supports.
- Contribute to Treatment Planning: Work with the clinical team to implement and review rehabilitation plans.
- Maintain Documentation: Complete timely and accurate notes in Penelope and TrakCare.
- Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with team members and external partners to support resident progress.
- Provide Transport: Drive the programs 11seater vehicle for group activities and appointments.
- Work to Roster: Participate in rotating day afternoon and sleepover shifts (sleepover allowance applies).
About You
You bring warmth professionalism and a strong commitment to supporting people in a structured residential environment. Youre confident working with complex presentations and maintaining a therapeutic recoveryfocused approach.
You will bring:
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Alcohol and Other Drugs
- Experience working with AOD clients including voluntary and forensic
- Knowledge of harm minimisation and recovery frameworks
- Ability to support individuals with cooccurring mental health needs
- Strong communication conflict resolution and deescalation skills
- Attention to documentation accuracy and strong timemanagement skills
