Stella Contracting Inc is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accessibility Consultant to join our team. As an Accessibility Consultant you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our clients buildings facilities and public spaces are compliant with accessibility regulations and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough accessibility assessments of buildings facilities and public spaces to identify any barriers or non-compliance issues.
- Provide expert guidance and recommendations to clients on how to make their spaces more accessible.
- Develop detailed accessibility reports outlining findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with architects engineers and contractors to ensure that accessibility requirements are incorporated into design plans and construction projects.
- Stay up-to-date on accessibility regulations and standards and advise clients on any changes or updates.
- Conduct training sessions for clients on accessibility best practices and regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accessibility policies and procedures for the company.
- Act as a liaison between clients and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with accessibility laws.
- Provide support and guidance to project managers and other team members on accessibility-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Architecture Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accessibility consulting or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of accessibility regulations and standards (e.g. ADA AODA etc.).
- Strong understanding of building codes and construction practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Proficient in using accessibility assessment tools and software.
- Experience working with clients in the public and private sectors.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
