Job Summary

Youll collaborate closely with the Network & Transport Infrastructure Manager and a passionate team to ensure our systems run smoothly securely and reliably every day.

Heres just some of what you will be doing daily

  • Network Design & Implementation:
    • Design implement and maintain complex network infrastructure solutions including LAN WAN WLAN and data center networks.
    • Participate in the planning and implementation of network upgrades and expansions.
    • Configure and troubleshoot advanced network devices and protocols (e.g. routing protocols VLANs QoS security protocols).
  • Documentation:
    • Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation including physical and logical network diagrams configurations and troubleshooting procedures.
    • Publish technical documentation to clearly explain the operation and function of implemented network infrastructure solutions.
  • Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
    • Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve complex network issues.
    • Analyze network traffic and identify potential performance bottlenecks.
    • Implement and maintain network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Security:
    • Implement and maintain robust network security measures including firewalls intrusion detection/prevention systems and access control lists.
    • Ensure network security compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of networking concepts protocols and technologies (e.g. TCP/IP routing protocols switching protocols MPLS VPNs).
    • Display strong experience with Cisco routers and switches (e.g. Catalyst Nexus).
    • Experience with network security technologies (e.g. firewalls intrusion detection/prevention systems).
    • Experience with network automation and orchestration tools (e.g. Ansible Puppet) is a plus.
  • Collaboration & Support:
    • Collaborate effectively with other teams within the organization to ensure smooth and efficient network operations.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to junior network engineers.
    • Participate in on-call rotations for 24/7 support of network services.
  • Professional Development:
    • Participate in continuous learning and develop new skills related to network engineering and emerging technologies.
    • Participate in industry events training sessions and certifications (e.g. CompTIA Network/Security CCNA CCNP).

We are looking for a very specific skill set. If you can say yes to each of these requirements then we want to meet you!

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or equivalent experience.
  • Industry certifications (e.g. CCNP CCNA satellite communication certifications) preferred.
  • Miinimum 5 years of experience in network engineering or a related field.
  • Industry certifications (e.g. CompTIA Network/Security CCNA CCNP certifications) preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of routing protocols (e.g. OSPF BGP EIGRP).
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (e.g. TCP/IP subnetting VLANs).
  • Excellent communication problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routers switches and wireless (e.g. Catalyst Nexus).
  • Experience with network security technologies (e.g. firewalls intrusion detection/ prevention systems).
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Python Bash) is a plus.
  • Experience with network automation and orchestration tools (e.g. Ansible Puppet) is a plus.
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A collaborative and flexible style with strong service mentality. Need to be seen as a team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships.
