The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic procedures to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires technical expertise attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform radiographic imaging procedures according to physician orders and protocols.
Operate X-ray equipment including portable units XR and DR rooms.
Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures.
Ensure image quality and accuracy for diagnostic interpretation.
Maintain patient safety and adhere to radiation protection standards.
Utilize patient tracking systems and document procedures using Epic Systems.
Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams.
Schedule & Work Environment
Night shifts (8-hour shifts)
Schedule: 12:00 AM 8:00 AM
Alternating weekends and potential holiday coverage required
Hospital or imaging center setting
No block scheduling
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Graduate of an accredited Radiography program
Active New York State Radiography license
Certification by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography
Preferred Qualifications
Maintains continuing education credits as required by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Experience with patient tracking systems and Epic Systems workflow
