What does a day in the life of a Senior System Analyst look like
As a Senior System Analyst you will be implementing and analyzing complex systems within the Order Management System (OMS) and Parcel Execution System. This includes diagnosing program issues resolving user issues planning development and testing. This position will report to the Senior Systems Manager and work directly with vendors other departments internal clients and warehouse operations to complete or lead tactical and strategic initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide specialized Order Management & Parcel Execution System support to users and clients
- Work through order and shipping transaction flows and documents including purchase orders shipment confirmations shipping orders shipment status and confirmations
- Identify and define application problems and evaluate procedures and processes
- Control solutions by establishing specifications and coordinating production with programmers
- Lead testing efforts and validate results by testing programs
- Design develop and implement integrations amongst the company systems
- Diagnose system bugs and functionality gaps
- Establish integrations and data exchange across platforms (e.g. EDI APIs and file-based interfaces)
- Write queries to retrieve update and manage data using SQL
- Collaborate with internal and external end users to drive best practices
- Provide status updates to team members and stakeholders
- Operate with a high level of knowledge of the organization and industry

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in information services or a related field
- 5-7 years experience working within Information Services or equivalent systems experience
- 3 years experience supporting enterprise Order Management Systems (OMS) and/or parcel shipping execution solutions (e.g. order orchestration allocations shipment planning carrier integrations rating/labeling)
- Experience training internal and external end users on system functionality
- Experience writing queries utilizing SQL
- Ability to work in a high volume fast paced environment while applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to troubleshoot systems issues prioritize effectively and implement solutions
- Ability to learn understand and apply new technologies and development processes
- Able to travel for business up to 10% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the supply chain industry or software consulting
- Experience in coding using languages such as C# Java Javascript
- Experience overseeing or developing web servers such as IIS and Apache
- Understanding of APIs and Web Services
- Experience working in Agile scrum methodology
- Familiarity working with EDI transaction sets to exchange business documents such as purchase orders invoices and shipping notices (EDI 850/856/940/945)
