Job Description:

The University of Florida Herbarium (in the Florida Museum of Natural History) has a Federal Work Study (FWS) position available to work on processing dried museum specimens of vascular include handling fragile herbarium specimens gluing and sewing specimens with archival methods for long-term preservation and study organizing and filing typing information from specimen labels into database fields and imaging specimens with a fixed mounted camera. Tasks require meticulous care and attention to detail. The hours are flexible but a regular schedule of 6-12 hours per week is desirable

Expected Salary:

$14 an hour

Required Qualifications:

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through Federal Work-Study.

Preferred:

Familiarity with general botany and plant taxonomy can be helpful but is not requisite.
