Charity People is delighted to be partnering with RIBA North to recruit for their next Exhibition Invigilators.
RIBA North is looking for friendly confident and reliable Exhibition Invigilators to support a public-facing exhibition at their Liverpool venue. This is a fantastic temporary opportunity for people who enjoy engaging with the public and working in a creative cultural environment.
About RIBA North
RIBA North is the Royal Institute of British Architects hub in the North of England championing architecture through exhibitions learning programmes and public engagement. Based on Liverpools iconic waterfront RIBA North provides a welcoming and inspiring space for visitors of all backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as a welcoming front-of-house presence
- Supporting and engaging visitors to the exhibition
- Monitoring exhibition spaces and ensuring artwork is protected
- Politely reminding visitors of exhibition guidelines
- Providing basic information and directions
- Supporting a safe inclusive and enjoyable visitor experience
Working Pattern
RIBA Norths exhibition space is small meaning only one invigilator is needed on-site at any one time. To ensure continuous cover and avoid gaps during lunch shifts will be structured with clear handovers.
Typical shifts may include:
- 10:00am 2:00pm
- 2:00pm 6:00pm
This role can therefore work well for:
- People looking for 4-hour shifts
- A small team of 23 invigilators sharing cover across the week
- Candidates seeking flexible or part-time temporary work
Please note:
All invigilators will be expected to start together on 24 April (working 16:30-20:30) for group induction and the exhibition opening preview evening.
About You:
- Friendly approachable and confident with the public
- Experience in customer service visitor services hospitality museums galleries or similar
- Comfortable managing minor issues or conflict calmly
- Reliable and able to commit across the exhibition period
- Interest in arts culture or architecture is a plus but not essential
This role would suit students freelancers creatives or anyone seeking flexible temporary part-time work in a cultural setting.
