Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse Operating Room
Location: Ithaca NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts per week
Hours: 36 hours/week
On-Call Requirement: Required
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide high-quality perioperative nursing care. The RN will support surgical teams by ensuring safe efficient and patient-centered care throughout all phases of surgical procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in the operating room using the nursing process
- Prepare and maintain sterile environments for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures
- Monitor patient status before during and after surgery
- Ensure proper handling and use of surgical instruments and equipment
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Adhere to infection control safety and regulatory standards
- Participate in on-call rotation as required
Requirements:
- Active RN license
- Recent experience in an Operating Room (OR) setting required
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced high-acuity environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred
- ACLS and/or CNOR certification preferred
